Well, Willowmoon 2.0 really, as I have recently moved from Calgary to sunny, beautiful Pender Island. I am Jude, a journeyman carpenter, with over twenty five years of experience in designing and building custom kitchens, cabinetry and furniture. I believe in providing high quality cabinetry and furniture, excellent service and a positive experience for the client. Let's talk about building for a moment. People are often nervous when the word "custom" gets batted around, and for good reason. Custom can mean "expensive", but it doesn't have to. You always have choices about how much your project will cost, whether that means using a paint grade wood versus stain grade or whether you want all the bells and whistles or maybe you just want something simple that fits your space and needs. So, why custom? Well, that's a good question. Have you ever been in someone's kitchen and the cabinetry doesn't seem to fit the space? The layout of the cabinetry is awkward, or the scale doesn't feel right? Maybe you've seen an entertainment unit where the television looks like it is about to fall off the cabinet it is precariously perched on? That is what happens when you buy cabinetry from big box stores or wholesalers. Sure, you get a good deal initially, but the quality, longevity and design doesn't compare to that of custom design and cabinetry. So what about you?
